Academic Vita

Franziska Reichenbecher (Dr. phil.) studied Media Culture (B.A.) and Research in Media and Culture (M.A.) at the Bauhaus University Weimar, where she worked as a lecturer and research assistant at the Chair of Media Philosophy from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2018 she was a doctoral fellow at the Competence Center for Media Anthropology (KOMA). In 2022, she received her doctorate with her dissertation on media of everyday hospitality at the Bauhaus University Weimar. Since April 2018, she has been working as a research assistant at the Department of Film, Theater, Media and Cultural Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Currently, she is pursuing her habilitation project that investigates media of comfort (convenience) as agencies of classification.
